Mazes and Minotaurs

Perseus suddenly realized he left his sheild back with the Hesperides...
I was looking through my dropbox filled to the brink with junk and free roleplaying systems, when I re-discovered Mazes and Minotaurs. Is it just me, or is M&M the absolute coolest system around?

I know it's not much to blog about, except that the next time that my buddies are up and over here (which will be soon, I think), I'm wrangling them into a game or two. Greek mythology is the bee's knees.

  1. It does indeed rock (as does the Vikings spin-off).

    I think my favourite parts (apart from the oh-so-simple-and-clear mechanics) are the faux 'history of the game' sidebars.

  3. @Chris: The whole presentation is genius. The sidebars make me chuckle, the captions under the art make me giggle, and the mechanics make me wonder why I haven't made up something that elegant.

    Whenever I get the urge to "rewrite" old school D&D, it's hard for me not to want to make it more like M&M, at which point I just read it over again and leave it be.
