I've played slower-paced games and enjoyed them infinitely more. I've played MUDs for quite a period of time, as well.

Saying that because I played WoW I can't appreciate EQ is completely ignorant and factually untrue. I came into the game with a completely unbiased and open opinion of what it is that the game could offer me and came away disappointed. It's not a good game.

I'm sorry that you can't accept my opinion.Nickhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08596442998967851832noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2817647623501108348.post-83334459107933457112013-10-26T14:49:28.979-04:002013-10-26T14:49:28.979-04:00Sorry bro, I know this is an old thread but you do...Sorry bro, I know this is an old thread but you done f'd up.. let me lay it out for you.
You started out with MMO's playing World of Warcraft.. and then you come to play Everquest and compare the two. EQ is not meant for the high speed A.D.D. suffering young people of today. It was hard, everything took time and the rewards sometimes didn't seem that great but at its time, you had a sense of pride having a max level toon than you did in WoW. The people that play EQ during the time you posted this are ether hardcore gamers looking for a challange, oldschool gamers, or those wanting to spend a few weeks reliving memories. To go straight into EQ expecting it to be like WoW then compare it to WoW is just ignorant on what the game is. Everquest was the first world wide globally famous MMORPG. If it wasn't for Everquest, WOW probably would have never existed if not for the success of EQ. So why don't you just take your review down.. or rename it to "A WoW player's look into Everquest 1" or something. I also agree with everything Ramey Sadler said.Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05024887240349214223noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2817647623501108348.post-10228915829280182372013-08-07T00:53:38.209-04:002013-08-07T00:53:38.209-04:00arguing yr not apposed to grinding and mentioning ...arguing yr not apposed to grinding and mentioning Vanilla WoW in the same sentence is a joke. WoW at no point EVER has had any kind of grind to it. People argue that the game doesn;t start until yr 60... that's very true in EQ as well, save it takes you forever to get lvl 60 in Everquest... HARDCORE grinding in EQ it'll take a month to get 60... you can get 60 in less than a fucking week in WoW. EQ was glory back when the PvP team servers were up... this is all ancient history, it's not the same I'll admit these days. But there really is no mmorpg that has touched it's glory. WoW is what it is because Blizzard is what it is NOT because it stood any kind of ground against EQ. EQ came from nowehere and revolutionized a genre of gaming. WoW already had 20 million Starcraft, Diablo, and Warcraft fans. EQ earned it's popularity just like you have to earn what you get in Everquest. Everything in WoW is handed to you like yr a noob because it's made for noobs it's not made for gamers. You have to understand that honor points are a joke compared to the ability to kill someone, loot an item, take the money on their person, AND POTENTIALLY DELEVEL SOMEONE IN A GAME THAT IS SO HARD TO FUCKING LEVEL IN THE FIRST PLACE. It's real war.

Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2817647623501108348.post-63768004397863664312012-10-17T14:29:23.144-04:002012-10-17T14:29:23.144-04:00Heh, well put!
